WORSHIP AT
FIRST CHURCH
First United Methodist Church
offers four distinct worship services where people
can worship and experience God. Our desire is that you
come to love God and understand the awe and wonder of his
majesty, his creation, his grace, his holy power to heal and
forgive, and most of all his tremendous love for you.

DOWNTOWN CAMPUS 200 West High Street
Our
Sanctuary (downtown campus) holds two traditional worship service every Sunday morning at
8:30 AM and
11:00 AM.
Each service is about one hour in length. Sunday School meets at
9:50 AM.
Our downtown service is in a
beautiful historic sanctuary built in 1908, and is part of our
legacy dating back to 1789. There is wonderful singing using
hymns and anthems, meaningful liturgy, inspiring preaching, and
warm, vibrant music. About 300 persons worship at 8:30, and
400-450 at our 11:00 service.
We are in the heart and
"hub" of downtown Lexington, and we often say we are
"downtown for good" meaning we are here to stay as an urban,
historic "city on a hill" and we are here for the "good we
can do" close to the hurting humanity of the streets.
Our sanctuary truly is a
sanctuary where we find rest, peace, time for
prayer--but also to move toward being with one another and
then out into the world.

ANDOVER CAMPUS
4131 Todds Road The
worship service at our Andover Campus is also traditional and family
friendly. We offer one worship service at 11:00 a.m. which is about
one hour in length. Sunday School starts at 9:45 a.m.

Andover has a worshipping congregation of
about 200 persons of all ages, and was launched in October 2007.
Already it has welcomed a wonderful group of children, a sanctuary choir
that serves each Sunday, many musicians who share their gifts, and four
Sunday school classes (plus more for the children!) for spiritual growth.
There is plenty of parking on site. |

Served at the communion/altar rail where most persons kneel if they are
able, using the wafer and small communion cup and juice OR served by
intinction (the congregation walks to bread and chalice "stations" tears a
piece of bread from the loaf, dips it in the juice,
