Telecare involves a committed group of caring people,
reaching out to fellow members through a phone ministry.
Once a month we gather at church. We begin the evening with
news of who is ill or in the hospital, who has lost a loved one or had a new
addition to their family. We pray for God’s anointing, and for one another.
Then we begin our phone calls.
We are Christ’s hand, extended in love and compassion, to
shut-ins, fellow members, and sometimes to regular guests. As our church
continues to grow, our job is to keep everyone connected. We serve as the eyes
and ears of the congregation, gathering vital information to assist our pastors’
ministering to our membership. Oftentimes we are the first to hear of an
illness, a loved one in the service, or a shut-in who needs a
visit, etc.
Our ministry enables us to keep everyone connected. One of
the wonderful benefits is the formation of friendships with those whom we
call. They are a blessing to us. All information is kept confidential and shared
only with the clergy. Prayer lists and visitation lists are made from the
information we gather as we call.
