First Vision

        First Church is a community of Christian believers being  transformed through intentional discipleship (Ephesians 4:13) and spirit based worship (John 4:23). God meets us in these acts and leads us to practice Christian hospitality (Romans 12:13) and to build lay leadership teams (Ephesians 4:12), resulting in a witness to all people about new possibilities in Christ (Matthew 28:19-20)and  service to those who are hurting (Psalm 82:3).

Find unbelievers and bring them to Christ.

Ignite love and concern for one another through fellowship   opportunities.

Reach out to people in need.

Strengthen people through vital worship.

Train disciples to be devoted followers of Christ

First Guiding Principles

 We strive to:

•      By Christ’s example, be leaders and shepherds of God’s flock — worshiping Him regularly

•      Study God’s Word, individually and in groups, and apply it consistently

•      Pray regularly — individually and in groups

•      Exhibit Christ-like behavior and harmony among all the other Saints

•      Work hard, for Christ’s sake

•      Help those who can’t help themselves

•      Look first at the “log in our own eye” before addressing the  “speck in the eye” of another

•      Always encourage others to be the best they can be

•      Work toward excellence in all we do, never accepting the status quo (Excellence attracts like a magnet)

•      Communicate directly, honestly, openly and effectively

•      Abide by our guiding principles
